Fyle pricing starts at $11.99 per active user a month on the Growth plan, billed annually, with a five-user minimum. Fyle now sells as Sage Expense Management (formerly Fyle), and its Business plan is $14.99 per active user a month billed annually, with a ten-user minimum. Monthly billing costs $3 more per user on both plans, and Enterprise is quoted for companies with 250 or more employees.
Those figures come from fylehq.com/pricing, read on October 2, 2026. Most of the pages that rank for "Fyle pricing" quote older numbers, from $4.99 and $8.99 to $11 and $15, so check the date on anything you read. Below is the full plan table, what an active user actually is, the cost for 5, 10 and 20 people next to Expensify and Zoho Expense, and the point where a team outgrows Growth.
How much does Fyle cost per user?
Fyle costs $11.99 per active user a month on Growth and $14.99 on Business when you pay for the year up front. Paying month to month raises those to $14.99 and $17.99. Growth bills at least 5 users and Business at least 10, so a three-person team on Growth still pays for five. Enterprise has no published price.
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Minimum billing | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $11.99 per active user a month | $14.99 | 5 users | Unlimited expense tracking, real-time Visa, Mastercard and Amex feeds, single-stage approvals, QuickBooks Online, Xero and Sage 50 (beta) |
| Business | $14.99 per active user a month | $17.99 | 10 users | Multi-org, multi-stage and policy-driven approvals, ACH reimbursements (US only), project expense tracking, custom data exports, multi-currency, Sage Intacct, Sage 300 CRE, QuickBooks Desktop at extra cost |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | For 250+ employees | Direct API integrations with accounting, travel, HR and payroll systems, SSO, IP allowlisting, a dedicated account manager |
The plan line that moves most teams up is approvals. Growth has single-stage approval only, so the moment a manager and then finance both need to sign off, or a large expense needs a second approver, you are on Business. The same goes for paying employees back by ACH inside the tool and for Sage Intacct.
What counts as an active user in Fyle?
Fyle defines an active user as anyone who creates at least one expense, or who has a credit card connected to Sage Expense Management with active transactions. A manager who only approves, and carries no connected card, does not meet that definition. An employee whose company card is connected does, even if they never open the app, because the card's charges count as activity.
That definition is friendlier than per-seat billing for companies where many people approve and few people spend. It is less friendly when every cardholder is connected, because a card that only pays one software subscription a month still makes its holder active. Count your connected cards, not just the people who file reports, before you estimate the bill. The minimum also sets a floor: Growth bills five users even in a month when only two are active.
Is Fyle now Sage Expense Management?
Yes. Fyle's site and pricing page now carry the name Sage Expense Management (formerly Fyle), and the pricing still lives at fylehq.com. Plans, minimums and the active-user rule are the same product under the new name. The Sage connection shows in the integration list: Growth includes Sage 50 in beta, Business adds Sage Intacct (with special pricing for existing Sage Intacct customers) and Sage 300 CRE. If you already run Sage Intacct, ask about that pricing before you compare quotes.
Fyle cost for 5, 10 and 20 people
The table below prices a year for three common US team sizes, assuming every person is active every month. Fyle and Expensify Control are at their published annual rates. Zoho Expense is at its annual rate from zoho.com/us/expense/pricing, and Expensify from help.expensify.com, both read October 2, 2026.
| Tool and plan | 5 people | 10 people | 20 people |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fyle Growth ($11.99, min 5) | $719 | $1,439 | $2,878 |
| Fyle Business ($14.99, min 10) | $1,799 (billed as 10) | $1,799 | $3,598 |
| Expensify Collect ($5 a member) | $300 | $600 | $1,200 |
| Expensify Control ($18 list) | $1,080 | $2,160 | $4,320 |
| Zoho Expense Standard ($3) | $180 | $360 | $720 |
| Expenditure Starter ($12, min 3) | $720 | $1,440 | $2,880 |
| Expenditure Growth ($21, min 3) | $1,260 | $2,520 | $5,040 |
Two things stand out. Fyle Growth and our Starter seat land within a few dollars of each other at every size, so the choice between them is about features, not price. And Fyle's Business minimum makes it expensive for a five-person team that needs two-step approval: you pay for ten users to get it.
Is Fyle cheaper than Expensify?
Not on Collect. Expensify Collect is a flat $5 per member a month with no annual commitment, less than half of Fyle Growth. The comparison flips at Control, which lists at $18 per member a month annually and is where Expensify puts unlimited company card feeds, NetSuite and multi-level approvals. Expensify's help center says Collect allows one company card feed, so a business with cards from two banks is looking at Control, and against Control Fyle Growth is cheaper. Expensify's card discount, down to $9, only applies when spend runs on the Expensify Card.
Does Fyle have a free trial?
The pricing page does not offer one. Every plan, Growth included, leads to a "Get a Demo" button, and there is no free tier. Budget for a sales call before you can see the product with your own receipts, and ask during that call which plan your approval chain and accounting system actually require, because those two lines decide between Growth and Business.
Where Fyle is the right buy
Fyle is built for expense management on cards you already hold. It takes real-time feeds from Visa, Mastercard and Amex programs, can issue virtual cards on some existing cards, and does not ask you to move to a new card program. If you want live card feeds, text-message receipt capture and single-stage approval for five to ten people on QuickBooks Online or Xero, Growth at $11.99 is a fair price. If you run Sage Intacct, the Business plan's integration and Sage's existing-customer pricing are hard to beat.
If you are still weighing that against the tools that want your spend on their own card, our comparison of credit card expense management software for existing cards prices Fyle, Expensify, SAP Concur and the card-led platforms for ten cardholders on two card programs.
Where Expenditure fits
Expenditure costs about the same as Fyle Growth on Starter and more on Growth, so we are not the budget pick. Where we differ is the work after capture. Every receipt is read at line level and coded to your own chart of accounts, every statement line is checked against what is already booked so a charge that arrived as a receipt is not entered twice, and duplicate subscriptions, unused seats and vendor price increases are flagged across all your spend. Policy rules and approvals start on our Growth plan at three seats, and multi-step approvals are on Scale from five seats, so two-step sign-off does not mean paying for ten users.
We import card statements as CSV, OFX or QFX files rather than holding a live feed, which is a real difference from Fyle: you upload each card's statement, and the import shows every line as new, duplicate or matched before anything is booked. At month end, once the card statement and the expenses agree, the remaining step is matching the bank account that paid the card, and a dedicated tool to reconcile a bank statement against your books handles that faster than a spreadsheet. Approved expenses export as files for QuickBooks Online, Xero or NetSuite.
For the full head-to-head on features, see our Sage Expense Management alternative page, and for Expensify's two plans in detail, the Expensify Collect plan cost against Control. Our own plans are on the pricing page. We never move or hold your money, we never sell your data or train a model on it, and this is software and insight, not tax or accounting advice.
Frequently asked questions
How much is Fyle per month?
Fyle Growth is $14.99 per active user a month on monthly billing, or $11.99 a month when billed annually, with a five-user minimum. Business is $17.99 monthly or $14.99 billed annually, with a ten-user minimum. A five-person team on Growth pays about $75 a month on monthly billing or $719 a year up front.
Does Fyle charge for approvers?
Not by its definition of an active user. Fyle bills users who create at least one expense or who have a connected credit card with active transactions. An approver who never submits an expense and has no connected card is not active. The plan minimum still applies, so a small team pays for five users on Growth either way.
Does Fyle work with QuickBooks Desktop?
Yes, on the Business plan, where the pricing page lists QuickBooks Desktop as an integration at additional cost. Growth covers QuickBooks Online, Xero and Sage 50 in beta. Expensify also puts QuickBooks Desktop on its Control plan. Expenditure exports files for QuickBooks Online, Xero and NetSuite and does not offer a QuickBooks Desktop export.
Does Fyle integrate with NetSuite?
The Fyle pricing page does not list NetSuite on Growth or Business; it names QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage 50, Sage Intacct, Sage 300 CRE and QuickBooks Desktop, and Enterprise adds direct API integrations. If NetSuite matters, confirm it on the demo. Expenditure Growth exports NetSuite journal entries for the CSV Import Assistant.
