Ramp pricing 2026: plans, cost per user, Ramp Plus fees and whether Ramp is really free

Ramp pricing has three published tiers. Free is $0 per user per month. Plus is $15 per user per month plus a platform fee based on team size, with 20 percent off annual billing. Enterprise is custom and billed annually. Those figures were read directly from ramp.com/pricing on August 11, 2026, and the third one is the problem: Ramp publishes the words platform fee based on team size and then never publishes the fee.

That matters more than it sounds. Almost every Ramp pricing guide in circulation quotes Plus as $15 per user per month and stops there, which turns Ramp's own conditional price into a flat one. Ramp's pricing page carries no FAQ and no fee schedule explaining what the platform fee is, how it scales, or where it starts. You find out on a sales call. Third party sites will tell you the range runs from nothing to five figures a month, but none of them cite Ramp, so treat those numbers the way you would treat any unsourced estimate: useful for bracing yourself, useless for a budget.

The second correction is bigger and newer, and it is the one that catches finance teams out. Ramp is widely described as free, and for the card and expense software that is still true. Ramp's own support documentation says the core card and expense management software is free to use, with no card replacement fees, no late fees and no interest on the card product. Bill Pay is a different story as of this year. Effective June 1, 2026, Ramp charges 59 cents per standard ACH payment and $1.99 per standard mailed check, with a three month grace period for active Bill Pay customers who paid at least one bill before May 1, 2026. Same day ACH is $10, a domestic wire is $15, an international SWIFT USD payment is $20, overnight check delivery is $20, and check attachments are $1 per page. If you read an article saying Ramp pays your bills for free, check its date.

There is a way back to zero, and hardly anyone writes it down. Ramp waives the transaction fee on standard ACH, standard check, same day ACH, domestic wires and SWIFT transfers when you fund the payment from a Ramp Checking Account. Overnight check delivery and check attachments still bill. So the honest version of Ramp's Bill Pay pricing is that it is free if you keep operating cash at Ramp and metered if you do not, which is a reasonable trade and a very different sentence from free.

A third thing worth correcting, because it shows up in most comparison tables: the four tier Starter, Core, Plus and Enterprise structure is out of date. Ramp's live pricing page shows three tiers. Procurement is also not included in Plus the way many roundups imply. Ramp lists it as an add on to Plus or Enterprise. And Ramp's much repeated savings figure of up to 5 percent is not a cash back rate. Ramp's own footnote describes it as an illustrative blended figure drawn from an example customer's total card spending, so quoting it as a rewards rate is wrong.

None of this makes Ramp a bad product. It is a genuinely strong platform, it claims more than 70,000 businesses, and the free tier is unusually generous for what it includes. The point is narrower: Ramp's model is that software gets cheaper the more of your financial operations sit on Ramp's own rails. The card is issued by partner banks including Celtic Bank, Column N.A., Sutton Bank and Lead Bank and is subject to credit approval, Ramp Business Corporation is a financial technology company rather than a bank, and the Bill Pay fee waiver depends on holding a Ramp Checking Account. That is a coherent business, and for plenty of companies it is the right one. It is simply not the same purchase as buying a piece of software.

Expenditure sells the software and leaves your banking alone. Starter is $12 per user per month, Growth is $24 and Scale is $39, billed annually in USD and published without a quote. It runs on the Visa and Mastercard cards and the bank accounts you already have, reads every receipt and codes it to the right GL account from your own chart of accounts, checks each transaction against your expense policy as it lands, and flags duplicate subscriptions, unused seats and price creep before renewal. There is no card application, no credit decision, no platform fee, and it never moves or holds your money.

Be equally clear about what Expenditure does not do, because the comparison only helps if it is honest. It does not issue corporate cards, extend credit, pay vendor bills or book travel. Ramp does all four, and if you want a card program, a bill payment rail and expense software from one vendor, Ramp is a better fit than we are and this page is not trying to talk you out of it. Expenditure earns its place when the cards and the payments are already handled and what still costs your team its month end close is receipt coding, policy enforcement and finding the spend nobody is watching.

To work out what Ramp will actually cost you, price it in three parts instead of multiplying a seat rate. Start with seats: headcount times $0 on Free or $15 on Plus, remembering the annual discount. Then ask Ramp in writing for the platform fee at your team size and get it in the order form, because it is the one number you cannot look up. Finally, count your monthly bill volume by payment method and decide whether you intend to hold cash in a Ramp Checking Account, since that single decision is the difference between paying nothing on payments and paying 59 cents to $20 a time. The table below lists every published figure so you can run that math without guessing.

Ramp published price list, read on August 11, 2026

Plan prices come from ramp.com/pricing and the Bill Pay fees come from Ramp's own support documentation, not from third party estimates. The one figure Ramp does not publish anywhere is the Plus platform fee, so it is listed here as unpublished rather than guessed at.

Plan figures read from ramp.com/pricing and Bill Pay fees from Ramp's published pricing overview, both on August 11, 2026. Pricing changes, so recheck before you sign and ask Ramp to put the Plus platform fee at your headcount in writing. If a comparison still lists Starter and Core tiers, quotes Plus as a flat $15 with no platform fee, or says Ramp Bill Pay is free with no conditions, it predates the current pricing and its cost math will be too low.

Why it works

What you get when the software is not funded by a card program

Every number published, none of them conditional

Expenditure publishes Starter at $12, Growth at $24 and Scale at $39 per user per month. There is no platform fee, no sales call to learn the price, and no per payment meter that changes what you owe from month to month.

No credit application, no card program

Free and near free tiers in this market are usually funded by a card program and an underwriting decision. Expenditure is software you buy outright, so there is nothing to apply for and nothing to be declined for.

Your cash stays in your own bank

Expenditure never moves or holds your money and issues no cards or credit, so no discount depends on where your operating cash sits. Your payment rails and your expense software stay independent.

What it handles

A receipt in, a categorized line out, the waste flagged

Expenditure reads each receipt, categorizes it, checks it against your policy and rolls it into real-time spend, then surfaces the duplicate subscriptions and savings you are leaking.

  • Reads every receipt and codes it to the right GL account automatically
  • Checks each transaction against your expense policy as it lands
  • Gives finance a live view of spend across cards, vendors and subscriptions
  • Flags duplicate subscriptions, unused seats and price creep before renewal
  • Syncs to QuickBooks, Xero and NetSuite with no card switch and no credit check

Receipts read, spend categorized, waste flagged

Not manual coding, not a stale spreadsheet. Expenditure reads each receipt, checks your policy, shows real-time spend, and flags the savings, all on the cards and banks you already have.

Read and categorized

Snap, forward or drop a receipt. The AI reads the vendor, amount, tax and line items, categorizes it and matches the card, in seconds.

Waste flagged

Duplicate and overlapping subscriptions, unused tools, price creep and out-of-policy spend, surfaced in real time with the potential saving.

Secure and in your control

Bank-grade security, we never move or hold your money, and we never train on your data. Insights, not advice, your finance team decides.

Good questions

Questions about Ramp pricing

Ramp costs $0 per user per month on Free, $15 per user per month on Plus plus an unpublished platform fee based on team size, and a custom annual figure on Enterprise. Plus is 20 percent cheaper billed annually. Bill Pay adds per transaction fees on any plan. Figures read from ramp.com on August 11, 2026.
The card and expense management software genuinely is. Ramp states its core card and expense product is free to use, with no card replacement fees, late fees or interest. What is no longer free is Bill Pay: since June 1, 2026 Ramp charges $0.59 per standard ACH and $1.99 per mailed check unless you pay from a Ramp Checking Account.
Ramp publishes Plus at $15 per user per month, with 20 percent off annual billing, plus a platform fee based on team size. The platform fee is real and Ramp names it on the pricing page, but never states an amount. Any quote of a flat $15 per user is quoting half of Ramp's own price.
Ramp does not publish it. The pricing page says Plus costs $15 per user per month plus a platform fee based on team size and gives no figure, no range and no formula, and the page carries no pricing FAQ. You get the number from Ramp sales. Third party ranges exist but none of them cite Ramp, so do not budget from them.
Not by default, and this changed recently. Effective June 1, 2026 Ramp charges $0.59 per standard ACH, $1.99 per standard check, $10 for same day ACH, $15 for a domestic wire and $20 for an international SWIFT USD payment. All five are waived when you fund the payment from a Ramp Checking Account.
On Plus and Enterprise, yes. Plus is priced per user per month, so software cost scales with headcount, and the platform fee scales with team size on top of that. The Free plan has no per user charge at all and includes unlimited users and cards, which is what makes Ramp attractive to smaller teams.
On the card product, none: Ramp charges no replacement fees, no late fees and no interest. On Bill Pay: standard ACH $0.59, standard check $1.99, same day ACH $10, domestic wire $15, international SWIFT USD $20, overnight check delivery $20 and check attachments $1 per page. Ramp itemizes them monthly.
Yes, since June 1, 2026, at $0.59 per standard ACH transaction. Active Bill Pay customers who paid at least one bill before May 1, 2026 got a three month grace period. The fee is waived entirely if you fund the payment from a Ramp Checking Account, which is how most heavy Bill Pay users avoid it.
Yes, the Free plan is genuinely $0 per user per month with unlimited users and cards, corporate cards, expense management, receipt matching and QuickBooks Online and Xero sync. Small teams that do not need NetSuite sync, multi entity support or AI coded line items can run on it without paying for software.
For a company that wants its cards, bill payments and expense software from one vendor, usually yes, and the Free tier is hard to argue with. It is worse value if you only wanted expense software, because the parts you are paying for on Plus assume you are moving card spend and operating cash onto Ramp.
